About Anansi Story
We bring the clever, kind, culturally rich folktales of Kwaku Anansi — the trickster spider of Ghana — to children everywhere. Free to read, hear, watch and share.
Why we do this
Stories should do more than entertain — they should help children grow. The tales of Anansi have done exactly that for centuries: passed down around evening fires across Ghana and the Akan world, they teach wit, kindness, courage and consequence, all wrapped in laughter.
But too many of these stories are hard to find, locked in expensive books, or retold without their heart. We think every child deserves them — whatever their family can spend. So we retell Anansi’s tales with care and warmth, and give them away free: to read online, to hear as audio, to watch as animation, and to download and print at home.

Anansi is a living cultural inheritance of the Akan people of Ghana, not an invented mascot. We treat him that way. We keep the spirit of the traditional tales, credit the heritage they come from, and clearly mark the places where we’ve adapted a story for today’s children.
